CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS PODIATRY · WORCESTER & WESTBOROUGH

Still hurting? Get a fresh look at your foot or ankle problem.

If your symptoms are not improving, your diagnosis is unclear, or you have questions about a recommended treatment, a second opinion with Dr. Neil Feldman can help you understand your options.

Bring your concerns and your treatment history. Dr. Feldman will listen, evaluate your foot or ankle problem, and talk through the next steps with you.

Please call and say: “I’d like to schedule a second-opinion appointment with Dr. Feldman.” These visits must be arranged by phone, not through online scheduling.

You don’t have to keep wondering what to do next.

Your pain keeps coming back.

You have tried treatment for heel pain, a running injury, or another foot or ankle concern, but you are still having difficulty with daily activities.

You want a clearer explanation.

You would like to understand your diagnosis, why a treatment was recommended, or what to consider when progress has stalled.

You’re weighing an important decision.

You are considering surgery or another treatment and want to discuss the benefits, risks, alternatives, and recovery expectations.

A second opinion starts with your story.

1. Tell us what has been happening.

Describe where it hurts, how it affects your life, what you have tried, and what you most want help understanding.

2. Take another look at the problem.

Dr. Feldman will review the history and available records, examine the area, and discuss whether any additional evaluation is appropriate.

3. Talk through a practical next step.

Dr. Feldman will explain the findings and discuss treatment options that fit your situation and goals. A second opinion may support your current plan, suggest an adjustment, or identify something else to consider.

Bring the pieces of your story.

  • Previous X-rays, MRI images, and reports, if available.
  • A list of treatments you have tried and how you responded.
  • Your current medications and relevant medical history.
  • The shoes or orthotics you regularly use, if relevant.
  • Your main questions and the activities you want to get back to.

Ask our team how to share records securely before your appointment. You do not need to have every record in hand to contact us.

Questions before you book

Can I get a second opinion if I’m already receiving treatment?

Yes. Bring information about your current care so Dr. Feldman can understand what has already been tried. A second opinion does not necessarily mean changing your clinician or treatment plan.

Will you recommend surgery?

That depends on the diagnosis and your situation. We will discuss appropriate options, including nonsurgical approaches when suitable. A second opinion does not guarantee a different diagnosis or a particular treatment.

Do I need a referral, and will insurance cover the visit?

Requirements and coverage vary by plan. Check with your insurer and our office before your appointment so you understand any referral requirements and expected costs.

What if my problem needs urgent attention?

Call our office to discuss a time-sensitive foot or ankle concern. A second-opinion request is not an emergency service. For a medical emergency, call 911.

Let’s help you understand your next step.
