Sesamoiditis Treatment Process
TREATMENT PROCESS
This is my current treatment process for patients with Sesamoiditis, please watch the video for full details.
- 1st Visit - Evaluate your condition, review x-rays, and perform a walking evaluation to determine the cause of your condition. Start working to reduce inflammation, reduce tightness and reduce stress through your toe joint.
- Orthotics - Orthotics are useful to stabilize the painful joint by reducing or increasing the movement based on what is needed.
- Shockwave and Amnio Injection - Some of my patients benefit from a series of 3-6 sessions of shockwave therapy to improve blood flow and help with pain and bone marrow edema. Shockwave can help with speeding up the healing process. At times to help speed up the healing an Amniotic injection is beneficial.
-
Cortisone Injection - At times I recommend a cortisone injection for a painful sesamoid region.
