Cold Injury Treatment Process

PATIENT EDUCATION

Here are the presentation slides for this condition.

TREATMENT PROCESS

This is my current treatment process for patients with cold injuries.

  • 1st Visit - Evaluate your condition, review x-rays if indicated. Be aware of the cold injury signs on the toes and the treatments and methods to avoid further skin changes. Assurance that is not infection. If there is itching will recommend steroid cream.
  • Avoid Cold Exposure - Avoid extended periods in the cold and consider hand warmers in the shoes or additional pairs of socks.
  • Be Patient - Skin will improve over months and usually totally resolves in the summer time for patients.

PRODUCTS

Here are some of the best recommendations I have found on Amazon to start treatment before you come in to the office.
