Dr. Feldman earned his BS in Zoology from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Magna cum Laude. His first two years of residency were based out of the VA in Palo Alto, California. A third year of surgical training was completed at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California. Dr. Feldman`s training included sports medicine, advanced techniques in the surgical treatment of arthritis and trauma, diabetic and pediatric surgery.
He is Board Certified in foot surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Feldman is active within the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Society serving on several committees and having served on the Massachusetts Podiatric Medical Association Board. He is involved with the surgical training of Podiatric residents as well as Family Practice residents at UMass Medical School. Dr. Feldman has authored several articles in The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a regular contributor to The 5-Minute Medical Consult textbook. Though his specialties are in reconstructive foot surgery and diabetic foot care, Dr. Feldman has a special interest and expertise in sports medicine.
He is an accomplished marathoner, ultra-marathoner and ironman triathlete. Dr. Feldman has competed twice in the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii (2004, 2008) and finished the Vermont 100 endurance trail run in 2010 in 21 hours, 34 minutes. He has a personal best marathon of 2:51 at Bay State Marathon in 2013 placing 2nd in his age group and has run 9 Boston Marathons. Dr. Feldman just completed the Leadville Trail 100 run in 28 hours, 14 minutes, finishing in the top half of all finishers.
